If you have received a payment demand from someone in another country, different rules apply depending on the type of debt involved. In many cases, the person who is demanding payment can ask us to help collect the debt, on the basis of international agreements.
If you have received a payment demand - that is, an injunction to pay - concerning a foreign debt, the same rules apply as for a Swedish injunction to pay.
If you have received a European injunction to pay, special rules apply. Note that a payment demand - an injunction to pay - must always be paid directly to the person to whom you owe money.
Do you have a debt to a foreign government authority, company or individual? If you have also received a letter from us regarding collection of the debt, the same rules apply as for Swedish debts. If you want to appeal the debt you may, if it is possible, do so directly to the foreign instance that issued the judgement or the decision.
If you have a foreign debt that has not been forwarded to us you should contact the party to which the debt is owed to ascertain the relevant amount and payment information, such as the number of the account to which payment is to be made. Your bank can help you with international payments and exchange rates.
